Nordstrom and American Eagle report stellar results with comp store sales up 11% and 17% respectively.

Urban Outfitters and Abercromie looked bad at -5% and -6% respectively.

Costco and JC Penney looked tepid at 3% with Costco blaming a 3% shortfall on the New Year's holiday shift.

Gymboree was flat and looks like it will open up down $3 or so.

Ann Taylor negative 10% comps, Chicos down 3.5%.

Target up a solid 5% (although they tout a 37% increase for the month in their headline and then go on to explain the extra week in the period vs. last year....A holes).

All in all, outside of stellar results at Nordstrom and American Eagle, a decent but not great month.
