Yeah, I'm not arguing either side, just pointing out what I think will be his explain as to why the invasion of Iraq is an illegal war. It's sort of strange that your article writer doesn't discuss it, and instead discusses the fact that Congress passed a resolution authorizing the use of force. I'm pretty sure his case won't be that the resolution was unlawful.

First, the idea that there is some body of "international law" to which the US government is bound is a fiction.

There are loads of treaties which the US government has signed. Wether we are "bound" to those treaties can be discussed, but we certainly have supported and signed many.
