Treaties are not analogous to laws, not matter how many of them there are.

In the common terminology "international law" is meant to imply treaties, Geneva Conventions, the UN charter, the laws of the sea, that type of thing. They may not be the same as speeding violations, but that is how the words are used in common discourse.

If not based on a violation of international law (whatever that means), on what do you think the guy is going to base his claim that the Iraq invasion was "illegal"?
