Baloney. Ultra rich isn't $200K. That's the upper middle class getting hit by the AMT. The ultra rich is more like $10m/year on up. That is the BASE for Republicans and the only ones they care about. Something like 7000 families in the US. That's the entire population that Republicans cater to. That's it. Republicans represent them and no one else which is why they blithely support $8 billion for the oil industry when ExxonMobil just announced $39 billion IN PROFITS. Everything Republican stems from this BASE and the desire to codify that wealth in perpetuity through tax cuts, noncompete, costplus contracts and support of practices like tax breaks for locating offshore or repatriating profits.
