The Emptiness of Surfing

The copiers were asleep, yet the office still hummed.
Dinner was over, the table not all the way cleared.
One plate, a water glass, a knife, fork.
Twenty minutes away, Liz awaited a random visit and bedtime story.
But the internet called.
Life was neglected.
Love was lost.
History avoided.
