Vista is basically a Web Browser on steroids. Because it interprets code instead of running it natively (although it can run natively most code for it isn't) it requires a lot more horse -power to get a similar performance. This could get a lot of users, in particular corporate users, to upgrade their machines.

I don't actually have any Dell stock anymore, but I check in with the company since it was the basis for much of my portfolio and so I have nothing but good vibes to project to the company. I sold my last 1000 shares late last year and continued my concentration in investments that are in money other than dollars. I still ride the Vista wave with Intel and AMD holdings although neither has returns to write home about.
