WASHINGTON, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Verichip Corp., which develops radio frequency identification systems, on Friday cut its planned initial public offering to 3.1 million shares at $6.50 each from an earlier estimate of 4.3 million shares at $6.50 to $8.50 each.
The company said in an amended filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that Merriman Curhan Ford & Co., C.E. Unterberg Towbin, and Kaufman Bros. LP are underwriting the IPO.
Verichip intends to list its stock on the Nasdaq under the symbol "CHIP" (CHIP.O: Quote, Profile , Research).
