I have to respectfully disagree with you on this.

I was horrified at how easily the media and the public was pulled into supporting the Iraq war. And this was a just a 'pre-emptive' war against a country that 'might' be able to harm us.

Americans would definitely fight any real enemy standing at our shores poised for attack. And democrats would vigorously lead the way. The notion that democrats as a group are soft militarily speaking is just a right-wing talking point. One not born out by history.

Don't forget many Dems were sucked right into the case for war rhetoric. And watching them backpeddle now is somewhat pathetic. I'll vote for Hillary but I'm not looking forward to watching her drilled by the right for her public statements supporting the war.

Absolutely American citizens would fight to protect this country. Now they might have to go to the gym first, but that's doable. :<)
