I can't help but think that Bush's January 10 warning against Iran supporting terrorists and insurgents in Iraq, followed by rolling up the odd Iranian up to no good in Iraq, followed by a troop surge of American troops to Iraq, may have gotten their attention.

It actually started well before then, but it does seem that the policy of isolating Iran politically and making the potential consequences of certain actions here may be having some positive impact. There also seems to have been a perception in Iran that MA's excesses may be whittling away the will of Russia and China to block American efforts toward sanctions.

MA is also cooperating nicely. It's almost ironic: Bush's incompetence in invading Iraq gave Iran a position of considerable advantage; MA's incompetent economic management may prevent Iran from exploiting that advantage. The US is certainly fortunate that MA has done such a horrible job of managing domestic affairs.
