Seems to me that if this is factual that the Japanese should get the credit for their tolerance to the Jews, after all, from 1937 on they occupied Shanghai.

I don't suppose that any Dutch Jews would have been treated kindly, after all, Japan was at war with the Netherlands. Maybe it could be that a fair number of German and Austrian Jews escaped to Shanghai and because of the military alliance with Nazi Germany all German nationals received better treatment. Likewise, I suppose with Italy or Vichy France.

But any English, Dutch or American Jew would have been interned and abused just like the rest.
