Good morning! I slept 11 hours last night without coughing but once. Am new person. Nasty virus. Hope you are doing better!!!!

Every Valentine's Day I made these tea cakes using a heart shaped cutter for the boys.

My Mama's Teacakes

1/2 c butter or margarine (I always use butter in baking- I think it makes a huge difference in taste)
1 egg, well beaten
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 c sugar
1/4 c. milk
2 1/2 c flour

Cream butter and sugar, add egg, milk and vanilla. Mix well. Sift dry ingredients (are they kidding? never)and add. Turn out on lightly floured surface and form into ball. Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Sprinkle sugar over dough and roll lightly. Cut with cookie cutter and bake on ungreased sheet at 375 for about ten minutes. This dough handles better if chilled. (I divide it in half and chill for this reason).
I ice them with pink frosting.
