Yes, you are correct. 95% of all the prognositcation I have also found are incorrect. I once read several years of Bob Bishop's predictions. He was constantly wrong about timing the gold market. He knew his stocks, but could not time the markets.

I seldom read the gold Eagle stuff as most of it is subjective. When I do read I compare the writers ideas with what I think is correct.

I liked this guy because he understood that we were able to keep inflation in check because asia was exporting deflation; and I know the US has controlled gold many times to keep the bond markets quiet.

Gold is such a small/tiny market in relation to currencies and bonds that one can get big bang for the buck (pun intended-lol), by supressing gold to give the impression there is no inflation.

Since May of 05 I have made almost all of my money on base metals. I will mainly stick with them because the supply /demand dynamics are clear and not going away.

With regard to those who think this is just another cyclical bull and getting tired I say, did any of those people predict these high commodities prices. No they did not.

The only guys I know correctly predicting the big old bull market in commodites were Jimmy rogers and George Soros.

I believe we are in a long term secular bull market in commodities. I also think GW's complete lack of monitoring spending (LBJ's guns and butter) will cause the dollar to fall and metals to rise.

For the last 6 years the US has had no secretary of the treasury for all practical purposes i.e. no one figuring our economic policy. This administration has not only just been writing checks to fund everything in site, but they have been cuttting taxes at the same time, during war time. That has never been done before and will be our economic death nail.

The expenditures on Iraq and Afghanistan will end up being much greater than vietnam and we are broke. Look what vietnam did economically to us--i.e. 1980!!!!!
