I think jobs situation is a non-issue as far as forward prospects for US economy. The US economy has been driven lately not by new job creation or rising wages, but by rising asset prices, primarily housing. Housing contraction and shutdown of housing ATM will put negative pressure on the job market. It is asset prices that will determine what happens in the job market and the economy and not vice versa.
