I sure remember that tune!

But just to be clear, although there were skirmishes in December 1914, the main battle of New Orleans was fought on January 8, 1815. Too bad they didn't have portable CDMA satellite phones in those days. A peace treaty ending the war was signed in Belgium two weeks before the battle, and thousands of British were killed or injured for naught.

I suppose there will be a series of events commemorating the war of 1812. If so, I might try to attend. I had ancestors in Upper Canada in those days, and I may be related to Mr. Lundy.
