Jefferson was the LIBERAL of his day. Adams and the Federalists were the Republicans.

Of course...those times are NOT really applicable to what we are seeing and dealing with today. You can't really say that your "favorite" Founding Father would react to any of today's situations the way that you would want them to.

If you really knew your Jefferson history you'd say, "RMF..Jefferson wanted to go to war with France and Adams didn't follow the will of the people and was a COWARD in the face of INSULTS to our Nation by the French, so Jefferson MUST have been a Republican and Adams a sleazy Democrat".

SO...it's complicated, but EVERYTHING I know about Jefferson tells me that he would have a HIGH regard for the New York Times if he lived today.
