We lived back there for several years, and NEVER saw that kind of snow, even in the Adirondaks!!! But one thing is sure....NY has excellent snow removal equipment. However, when the snow is taller than most houses in the village, it is difficult to see how that is helpful to the people in the house. Seriously, really hope every is accounted for there.

Here in Seattle, about 20 years ago, we had a huge snowstorm for the area...about 2 1/2 feet fell in a matter of a few hours, and shut the city down. The radio announcer was a hoot...He said the "One King County snow plow" was working around the clock to try to get the freeway cleared. At that time they really only had one. The rented bulldozers for anything else that was needed.
