What is stupid about the comment The implication that because the 6-party talks with North Korea appear to approaching some concessions, negotiations with Saddam would therefore have solved all outstanding issues with Iraq, or that negotiations with Iran and Syria would have some magical capacity to resolve outstanding issues there. Negotiations are a useful tool, at the right time and under the right circumstances. They are not a panacea. Possibly "stupid" was too mild a word.
