I thought you might like some of the books she mentions. Why she picked Billy Bulger's memoir is a mystery. If you're going to recommend a rascal politician, why not go all the way and recommend the biography of James Michael Curley, who won reelection from his jail cell? He's a far more interesting figure.

Titles like 'Famine' and 'Great Hunger' ought to be renamed, along the lines of How 75 British Regiments Took Part In The Murder of 5.2 Million Irish. Or something like that....

I thought it was a glaring omission to not include Recollections of an Irish Rebel by John Devoy or Devoy's biography by Terry Golway. The Easter Rising wouldn't have happened without American support, and Devoy was instrumental in that support.
