News Release Promontorios drilling scheduled for November War Eagle Mining Company Inc WEM Shares issued 15,953,924 Sep 30 close $0.55 Wed 1 Oct 97 News Release Mr Martin Holt reports A diamond drilling contract has been let on the Promontorios project with drilling starting November 1997. A geophysical electromagnetic survey is being completed in advance of the drilling. The company has taken 95 rock chip samples on a grid that defined a mineralized zone 800m by 400m which is still open ended to the northwest. The chip samples assayed an average grade of 14% lead, 20.1 ounces per ton silver, and 0.02 ounces per ton gold. The prospect has the potential for 100-plus million tons as an open pit mine.
