I believe their mindset is such that any progress will be seen as a sign that force works and the path to success is even more force. And any lack of progress is seen as insufficient force is applied and we need more "resolve"...I can back up my statement with a history of comments from this admin, including the responses while the moderates were in power in Iran and provided help with Afghanistan, but I don't think it will get us anywhere. I just wanted to voice an alternative perspective.
