since the aim of evolution is survival, we can't expect our brains to discover "truth":

Evolution does not have an aim.
Even survival, life itself, is a by-product of a situation that just happened to work.

It is not the goal of evolution to reproduce or live or think of truths, it is just turns out that chemistry on our planet has the right characteristics for life, and faithful reproduction, and for encapsulating truths far greater than is needed more mere survival.
