Changing tax structures, for example getting rid of the AMT

The AMT was a major screw up. It should have been indexed. It's creeping down now, but the large effects are yet to come. It's easily fixed as a tax code change. The biggest problem with the AMT is that it's currently included in the Federal budget projections as expected revenue.

Most everyone agrees that taxes aren't "fair". The problem is that what people mean is that they're paying too much and you're not paying your fair share. The only truly "fair" tax system...$3T Federal budget, 300M people. Fed tax bill = $3T/300M = $10K per person [not household]. If you have 5 people in your household your tax bill is $50K. I suspect that's not going to be the new and improved fair tax bill.

The Tax Freedom web site asks people if Donald Trump pays his fair share. An overwhelming "NO". They don't have any idea what The Donald pays, but they know it's not enough.
