I want plans. I want actual programs. From what I understand from the pollsters, that's what most people want.
I don't want someone to 'lead', I want someone to do the best job possible for me. I want an employee. If we remembered that the people rule in the USA, we would have a much better country.
I really dislike the cult of personality which places human beings on pedestals. It's not only unrealistic, it's dangerous and impractical.
We would have seen Clinton's affairs in a much different light if he was an employee rather than as the 'leader' of the free world or some other such nonsense. He would have been tsk-tsked at and then people would have focused on what he was actually doing.
The three branches of government, the federal-state governments, etc. are all supposed to be co-equal. Power is supposed to be divided.
Instead of rememebering this, we're constantly leaning back towards a dictator/monarchy/aristocracy/feudal model. We're still ending back looking at the imperial presidency, the unitary presidency, the above-the-law presidency. This is both dangerous and unnecessary.
Let's look for the best employee. This is someone who can bring in a team of people to do the people's business not his or her own. I don't want someone to tell me what to think, I don't even want someone particularly inspirational.
I want someone who can balance the books, provide services efficiently, negotatiate with other countries, promote economic growth, etc. In other words, I want someone who stops blabbing about crappola and gets actual work done.
