Countries do have rights. They exercise them all the time. They have rights under treaties. They have rights over their resources. Under international law they are generally presumed to have the "right" not to be invaded - as Kuwait was invaded, although the right not to be invaded is only a de jure right, and not a de facto right when the invading power is too big for the international community to tacked (like the invasion of Tibet, or Iraq).

If you do not think countries have sovereignty and rights, then we disagree. I think you are on the losing side of that argument.

"Bearing in mind its resolution I S I 5 (XV) of 15 December 1960, in which it recommended that the sovereign right of every State to dispose of its wealth and its natural resources should be respected, "

If you wish to preserve the autonomy of your own state, and the rights you would wish it to exercise, then you had better preserve the rights and sovereignty of other states.

The concept of "ok" just doesn't apply here. I'm talking about legal matters, and international law, and your talking about opinions and what is "ok". What is "ok" is so subjective, it really isn't something one should mix up with international law, imo. Ok to whom? And what does it matter if it isn't "ok" to you how the Saudis run things? It seems to me (and international law) that what is "ok" to the Saudis should probably govern in Saudi Arabia. Do we care whether or not the Saudis think what we do in America is "ok"? I hope not. I certainly don't.
