Still no signs of opening. Interesting to watch and wait for them to start opening to see if they all react the same. I think I remember reading about putting an aspirin in the water to help them last longer. Also remember something about putting a teaspoon of sugar in the water to do the same. Can't remember which one was the best so not going to do either at this time.

My best home grower has been African Violets and I have many of them that bloom all year long with a process I heard over the radio many moons ago. I water them with tepid from the top and they seem to thrive on that. I make a full pot of Lipton tea and what I don't drink water them with whats left after it gets tepid.

Was listening to a garden program and heard a lady call in that said her grandmother had a very old Indian squaw tell her about the tepid tea program and she had tried it and was just amazed how much her violets bloomed, so I tried it and have been doing it that way for years. I have a ledge over my sink which is on the west side and gets lots of sun through the day and have about six of them on that which has a valance at the top so they get lots of exposure through the glass and in the breakfast window have five there with a South exposure with same window treatment. I have deep purples, deep and light pink, and varigated purple and pink with white. I only water them every two or three weeks and they stay blooming for me and such a delight.

We have a large Whole Foods Market nearby and they have the best fruit trays around. Their flower center has just too many beautiful groups of flowers and plants. I don't go there too much as it would probably bankrupt me. lol I have a green house out in the back by the garage, but it doesn't get much use now after all the health problems I had some years ago. It used to be filled with orchids and other blooming plants which I lost due to neglect of them. I just tend to our house plants now and they are all doing well so far. I have one orchid plant inside which was a gift and I keep thinking I will try the tepid tea method on it, but haven't yet. Making a note to try that the next time it is watering time.
