But when Chrysler almost went belly up; government stepped in. The import tax can go up or dollar devaluation adjusted the situation; cars went from $5000 to suddenly $15,000 back in the middle 80s. Yen went from 260/$ to 110/$; then H.W.Bush became president and yen went to 88/$.

It may end up with government intervention on health care and fringe benefits. Who knows? A shotgun merger?

On the other hand, Ford can be turned around quickly. Unless you invested in Toyota, which may have slow appreciation; GM owns 30% of Toyota; how come GM is not rich? Toyota has to shut down some of their 9 assembly plants in Japan?

Ford could be exciting. Just watch and wait?
