Well that's trouble in paradise.. I think Iran should be left alone also.. None of this is going to come to any good for the US. Any attack on Iran will just be digging a deeper hole for themselves. The US wants Iran to stay a third world nation.. They'd prefer China that way too I suspect but they lost control of that situation long ago..

Attaboy! At long last you wrote something I agree with!

Yes, indeed! The US should leave Iran alone. In its long history, Iran has never invaded other countries. On the country, Iran was invaded and occupied by others, most notably by Alexander the Great of Macedonia!

The US wants Iran to remain a Third World nation instead of becoming a regional power, all for the sake of Israel which the US wants to be the regional hegemon instead! and for securing Middle East oil to enable the US to be the sole dominant global power! (BTW, according to Kissinger: "The nation that controls the world's fuel, controls the nations of the world.")

You are right again in that the US wanted China to remain a backward country! Too bad and sooooo verrrry saaad the US failed in its mission! In fact, several western powers had been attempting to emasculate China since the 1800s. All attempts to emasculate and to demonize China ("Yellow Peril", "Red Menace", "Godless Society) came to a screeching halt when China exploded its first atom bomb in 1966 and its first hydrogen bomb in 1968.

Ever since then American presidents and flocks of American businessmen have been flocking to China......!!! And, before biased folks thought China was capable, Chinese spacenauts orbited Earth and, to the amazement of the world, China demonstrated it has the technology to shoot down satellites! And the reason for the US military budget being so horrendously high (see fgures in one of my prior posts) is its fear (real or imagined) of China becoming a rival.

To return to Iran: To be sure,Israel is jealous of Iran as an up and coming country and wants nothing better than to see its progress arrested. This reminds me of Britain and France during the first half of the 20th century. Realizing that their power was in decline and being jealous of Germany's rising industrial might and economic power and growing influence in the sciences, Britain and France conspired to "spoil" things bigtime for Germany by engineering WWI and WWII! I am inclined to believe the US is acting these days much like Britain and France were because it feels its power is declining and is very determined to assert itself as an all-time #1 power! The US is in a state of denial that its sun is setting........

The history of mankind is replete with the rise and fall of empires! The Sumerian, Egyptian, Chinese, Greek and Roman, Incan,Mayan/Aztec and British empires rose and fell. So shall the American "empire" in the way of all past empires of the world, imperceptibly at first and then slowly but steadily declining over very many years! America will do well to reconcile itself with the inevitable! and to stop making all sorts of excuses (like exporting and planting democracy and acting as the self-appointed policeman of the world) to attack and occupy/control oil-rich countries.

As an indication of America's decline, Chrysler, one of the major American automakers is going kaput and has asked China for help. I believe the other automakers will follow suit sooner or later.
