People deserve what they tolerate..

Very nice and well thought out post, I recommend everyone read it.

I wrote something similar, to a friend in the UK about 20 years ago. I was visiting in London and the public entering a movie house were having their bags searched bags by police. I could not believe this was happening in London and that the British people were allowing it. I remember saying how pathetic the Brits had become and how Americans would never allow such a violation, IRA bomb scares or not. Americans are the original rebels, the Constitution guarantees individual rights, etc. Now I stand in line and watch as even smartly dressed American businessman are humiliated into having to walk barefoot through the airport security. You may be CEO of a million dollar corporation but some minimum wage, minimum i.q. immigrant security guard can be rude and demeaning and you can't do much about it. Diane Ross tried and failed.

The UK has peace in Ireland now. It also, has more CCTV cameras than any other Nation per square mile and is the most "watched" public in the world. Will America follow? The toothpaste and liquid affair started in the UK. The "shoe bomber" had a Brit passport.

I think if Americans don't snap out of the lethargy we might as well tear up the Constitution our current administration seems to have done so already.
