They bring back all sorts of people they're hoping they can turn into Mormons, and adopt refugees from all over with the same purpose. A prophet has no honor in his OWN land. (But can con the naive foreigner easier than a hipper American) Salt Lake City is very international for a landlocked American city - probably more so than most.
