So now this kids living in an overtly Christian community with a church on every corner. .... He has unresolved anger toward the Christian religion from his former life.....I don't know, just supposing here.:o)

It might be more than unresolved anger. It could also include PTSD. American soldiers aren't the only ones that get PTSD. We would need to know more about his age and background in Bosnia to know whether that's a reasonably possibility.

Also, it's more than a Christian community [BTW: Evangelicals don't generally consider the LDS members to be Christians.] Suppose the teenagers that the kid interacts with are a bunch of teenage Brumars, longnshort, mjs and such. Teenagers have been known for their psychological brutality towards fellow teens. How long could that Muslim kid go without snapping like a dry cracker being subjected to mj and Brumar day in and day out and living with the memories [or stories] of Bosnia?
