I understand what you are saying, but I would prefer a little more subtlety, a little more creativity in our responses to them. I don't think they can stand up to persistent, dogged, creative analysis.

A creative insult is fine, but make it deadly so they can't refute it.

I've found that some people will get so agitated when they can't answer a challenge that they just seem as though they will explode.

It isn't necessary to use name calling at all. I think that is just a crutch.
