Why aren't we hearing Iraqis saying we helped them become victorious ?

Because you have your hands over your ears, and you're singing "la la la la la I can't hear you!"

The Iraqi Prime Minister, Maliki (a Shia) was in DC in 2006 and thanked us for helping them get rid of Saddam.

Nuri al-Maliki, Prime Minister of Iraq (a Kurd), thanked the United States for ousting former dictator Saddam Hussein and hailed the "new Iraq that is emerging from the ashes of dictatorship." Maliki spoke to a joint session of Congress Wednesday.

Jalal Talabani, Iraqi President (a Sunni), has also thanked us and asked us to keep helping them.

We Need American Troops - Thank you for liberating my country. Please don't leave before the job is done.

Even Tariq al-Hashemi, Iraqi Vice President, who is very critical of US policy against the Sunni insurgency in Iraq, wants us to remain there, honor our commitments to the Iraqi people, and even send more combat troops.

You would know all of this if you actually read the newspapers or listened to the news on the radio.

Admittedly it's not easy to find the real news when the constant drumbeat from news reporters, Democrat members of Congress, and the majority of the posters on this board is "defeat, chaos, run away!"

But I will listen to the legally elected government of Iraq over the nay-sayers any day, and every day.
