You can of course continue to call people traitors because they have differences with you over political ways and means, but in the end you may turn off people who might otherwise have been on your side, and you will certainly convince no one who isn't already on your side. There are certainly many purposes for writing a post, and I guess if your purpose is merely to bond with like thinking people, your manner probably serves you. If you were trying to be persuasive, I would urge you to try another tack

I was sure that there was a vote to select General Petraeus to lead in Iraq several weeks ago. And I am certain that his plans were discussed. Since he was selected, I am sure that his plan was agreed upon. 5 weeks ago. Was there an election I didn't hear about? Prior to the last election, I heard some nobody, called Bill Clinton, talking about how he thought there should be more troops. Was he lying to CNN? Was he trying to persuade George Bush to agree to more troops, so that congress and his wife could cut the president's throat?

Now if you think that General Petraeus doesn't feel betrayed, I suggest you think that over. Now you have troops being readied for a surge, some of them ready to go to Iraq, and Mr Murtha says he is going to cut the funding they need to survive on. Do you think those boys don't feel like their Government has betrayed them? Ask the men who came home from Viet Nam how they felt when the American Public betrayed them? Ask them if they are still angry? Ask them if they felt pride in doing what their country asked, after that country stabbed them in the back. And now the Democratic Party has done the same thing to the Grandchildren of the VietNam vets.

Don't count on those missiles in Iowa, you may run out of people who know how or are willing to fire them to protect you.
