<KLA is just getting hammered the last two or three days on no apparent news.>

I work there, and therefore may be biased, but I'll confine my remarks to publicly available information (not that I'm privy to any deep secrets, anyway).

Briefing.com has been calling KLAC overpriced for weeks. Maybe that, combined with the ASND, Western Digital, and AMD pre-announcements, had something to do with it. I have also noticed, in the two or three years that I have been following the stock closely, that it is highly volatile. Other than the bear market of 95 to 96, and the subsequent roaring recovery, most of the wild swings have not had anything to do with what was going on at the company.

In the words of that great market guru, Bill Clinton, "the market will fluctuate."
