About Nextel: most of what IKM has to say in his post seems to make sense, but I wouldn't say that "their market visibility is limited."
In fact, I would say that their advertising and marketing is at least as prominent as that of Airtouch, GTE and Pac Bell here in southern California, probably more so than Sprint PCS. Their radio commercials seem to be on constantly on San Diego and LA stations. (They have some pretty funny ads too, have you heard the one featuring the paranoiac fighting his "duel of honor" with cellular phone cloners?)
To me, they seem likely to be a tough competitor.
