I remembered it from the naga asana. I think one of my teachers must have called it the cobra pose and told us naga meant cobra even though it apparently is more general than that.

I will look in to the Nagaland situation and get back to you, if you are interested. I meant to follow it up when I read about it last time, but there are so many situations of interest, and there just isn't enough time in a day.
