Hooray ... someone that actually agrees with me. Something I've been harping on about for years ! // It needs better marketing. // 'Nuff said ! // It needs to convince the market to pay a higher price for its cpus. // Something that has always pssed me off. Why the hell should AMD be selling their CPUs at ca. 30% lower than Intel's ? a) bad for their image b) psses off the channel partners every few months This is a marketing problem , not just a "benchmark comparison" problem ( i.e. selling lower because the PC-comics publish "popular" benchmarks ) AMD should have been shouting about their lead while they had it. They should have been printing EVERYWHERE in BIG letters that : xx% of Fortune 1000 Companies use Opterons" .. and then explain "why" in the small print ! Probably now too late... .. as Intel is shouting "World's Best Processor" on TV everywhere ! .. while they still have the lead in comic benchmarks! // In that regard, AMD promoting energy efficiency might be a profitable strategy // .. as per my recent posts on Geode!
