Bit of trivia i just this moment learned; i had always wondered if Einstein, this man of peace, ever regretted his having warned FDR that he had information that had convinced him that his classic equation(which my keyboard can't type:) would lead to a terrible weapon and so on and that Nazi Germany was now developing this weapon.
The answer is this: Einstein was later to say that his letter to FDR was " the mistake of his lifetime" or perhaps "the greatest mistake of his lifetime".
In other words, he wished that he had remained silent.Max
