When he started to suck up to the religious right, it was pretty obvious that it was true. In his favor, he admitted it instead of trying to spin it. But that only goes so far. McCain has crossed over to pandering, and that resigns him to the dustbin of history. Given his state, he will be lucky to stay in the Senate after this.
