I'll take a shot. Doesn't the 1948 UN resolution to establish the nation of Israel also establish right next to it the nation of Palestine? So even though the West Bank was administered by Jordan and Gaza administered by Egypt prior to the '67 war, aren't those two regions, based on the same UN resolution that establishes Israel, Palestine?

BTW - Do you have any suggestions for a good book of Israel-Pal history from WW2 to 1973? I'd be interested in reading one. I've read A Peace to End All War - a good history book about the ME during WW1, and Exodus, a novel around the time of Israel's founding. I wouldn't mind reading the history from ww2-the mid '70's if you have any suggestions.
