Personally, I don't believe they'll be allowed to do it. They plan to argue that the sat rad industry is in "competition" with the Ipod, terrestrial, etc., so, they should be permitted to merge and it wouldn't be anti-competitive.

Personally, I think that's a crock. The bad news is that these companies (both of them) need now, more than ever, to be focused on growing their business, and this is just one more distraction.

I think it is a big mistake and I suspect I will close out my investments in satellite radio very soon, unless something truly amazing comes out of these talks.
