Buddhism versus socialism?! Sorry, but what a silly comparison. One is a spiritual view of the world. The other is a political belief. Do I have to choose one or the other? How come we can have Christians who are also socialists but not Buddhists?

Anyway, not that it is anyone's business, but I can't be considered a socialist even by a mile. My political beliefs are most closely described as Libertarian...and that is a lot closer to capitalism than to socialism...and yes, I do see myself as Buddhist. It is just about the only religion out there that makes sense. But the libertarian in me doesn't give a damn what other religion others want to follow.

PS For a brief commentary I had on Buddhism, a while back, see Message 20768835
