i'll be dead long before any such event anyway. Earth we KNOW has already been hit at least twice since life commenced on the planet by nasty objects from space.
First about 250million years ago and an estimated 95% of all species of life were destroyed, and then again, 68million years ago, and an estimated 98% of all species of life was destroyed, incuding dinosaurs(Except for birds, as we now KNOW--argument is over---that birds are LIVING dinosaurs. This idea was put forth strongly 150 years ago, and it still took 150 years for science to surrender to stunning fact.All scientist that still refute this are like the scientists that persecuted Galileo.There are always more than a scientist that are QUACKS--always.)
If we get a mammoth asteroid that targets this planet PREPARRE TO DIE.No one can stop it.So what.Doesn't matter.

My posts about dark matter amd missing mass and also about dark energy are on this thread and should be read over and over or JUST once, depending how long it takes to catch on that all WE THINK WE KNOW IS wrong.
i do not talk cosmology, however, unless persons have a at least puzzled and pondered the posts i have on this thread about these matters of the cutting edge of Physics/Cosmology and NON-ELEMENTAL mass.
i find humans hysteria over being this planet being turned to powdwer, dust adrift in space to be kind of pathetic. Why is the fear of this planet's death not but the projection of one's OWN fear of death???
As all life on this planet dies, so will the planet, someday day.
i can imagine some creationist thinking of this i, me, as an atheist; which would be as blindly wrong as their believing in creationism.
