Hey!!!

Here I am slaving away ten to twelve hours a day for the few weeks I get to work in a year dealing with the hordes of desperate taxpayers seeking their just rewards.

The bright side is that once in a great while I actually get a client who has their act together, is prepared, and believe it or not, is not trying to pretend they know how to screw the IRS and are happy to let the chips fall where they may. Most of these folks do get refunds and I'm pleased to help them maximize it.

On the other hand, I am rather amazed at the number of female children who come in to file their taxes dragging their children with them. We're talking 18-20 year olds with 2, 3, and sometimes 4 kids none of whom have the same last name... unmarried and evidently clueless about how it all happens. Oh, and don't forget the current sleazy boyfriend, not yet the father of any, interested only in how much are "they" getting back. They create income out of thin air to maximize their EIC. Their mother often accompanies them... these are mothers of the people whose tax returns I am doing and some of them are younger than my oldest... just think being a multi-grandma at 35 and thinking nothing of it.

So don't begrudge me my occasional grub. When the grub Queens leave them dangling out there like that, I am not about to let it get away. So HUMPH! back atcha. <g>
