re BC's interior:

My little family congregated at our favourite ski hill last week- Whitewater outside Nelson.
So I'll give it a little plug here ( I see they got a foot of fresh last night!)

Two old double chairs heading up either side of valley open in the the most wondrous terrain I have skied. Mind I haven't seen a lot but its pretty magical in my book. Half a dozen open runs or so off each chair then the rest is glade/bowl skiing. Nice steep cutes, big moguls if you want 'em, fresh lines in the trees long after a dump.
Saw a lot of rain on the drive out there but the lodge is high enough it stayed dry-big plus in the interior.
Funky lodge with an EXCELLENT kitchen, they have even put out their own cookbook. I'll usually pack my own or do a cup of noodles but at Whitewater its a sit down lunch-good food!

Local brewery on tap.

I've only skied mid week there and never seen a lift line longer than two minutes.
Lots of free heelers flying around, probably more skiers than snowboarders not that that matters but a lot of folks do some touring/back country..
No condos, no downtown, nice and laid back
If you haven't been one should go.

I hope the move has gone well and your are able to get some turns in by now.
