Lots of them were/are Americans before marrying a Muslim. Lots of them are second or even third generation now and are very assimilated but their parents want them to receive an education with a moral foundation (I'm sure you have your own bizarre idea of that). The anti-American stuff starts with warning the kids against mainstream culture where alcohol, drugs, and illicit sex have become acceptable in many circles. Then they exaggerate the differences in culture to convince the kids that they will be the victim of America if they mix with the popular culture. Most of that is not different than other private schools. However, it becomes further exaggerated when Islam and America are presented as adversarial in principle. American culture gets demonized in comparisan with Islamic culture being blessed. You should easily understand that since this thread is all about doing the same thing only in reverse. This is not the norm or we would see bombs blasting in every community of America much like Iraq. Nor does it ever need to get that out of control if we are willing to deal with one another face to face. We can identify the real dangers and dispell the unrealistic fears.

That is happening in most communities btw, which might explain the relative calm in America. Extreme anti-Islam radicals serve as extremist tools to disrupt that calm and send everyone to paranoid extremes of opposition. I am not surprised that you would suggest shuttering schools.
