Some discussion of the merger

episteme.arstechnica.com

One comment about the services from someone who has both

"I'm really uneasy about this. I have Sirius in my Jeep and my wife's car, and XM on my daily driver Civic. I think XM does a better job at defining channels and keeping variety in teh music, but XM annoys the crap out of me in one way. They censor their music like no tomorrow. They are worse then regular radio. Sirius on the other hand has a policy of replacing radio edits with the true uncensored song. Its the one thing driving me nuts about XM to where I'm swapping my stereo just to get back my Sirius.

The other concern, is that Sirius offered a lifetime subscription, which i have. If they merge, how are they going to handle that, considering that the radio's are not compatible with each other.

All I care about is the music, although I do enjoy Sirius comedy more them XM comedy. To me, XM has the better variety, but Sirius wins by not censoring the music. I hope they get those two right."
