Side effects of DMSO are hardly relevant insofar as only Pennsaid's side effects are of concern to Nuvo.
To be sure, DMSO is one of the components of the patented carrier but there are other components as well. It's the carrier + diclofenac that we are interested in, not each of the carrier's components.
In any case I think one of the Phase III studies completed last year did include a DMSO group so side effects of DMSO may be known -- if you happen to be interested in DMSO.

So what is the FDA concerned about then PD,...why doesn't Health Canada, the British equivalent and the FDA bow down to the Pennsaid phase 3 study that barely scratched the surface of long term studies and allow Pennsaid scripts with no conditions, no three month limit, no restriction to the knee, no worries about skin irritation?
DMSO is not relevant at all to the FDA and HC, right?
