A Jew doesnt have to follow Judaism to be a Jew. If you are born of a jewish mother you are jewish, period regardless of what religion you practice and regardless of whether you know you are jewish or were shielded from this knowledge as in the Holocaust period. This is a hard concept for non-jews to understand. Thats why so many otherwise decent folks have it in for the jewish state and talk about moving all the jews to south america or antartica OR turning israel/palestine into a multi-ethnic state with an arab majority.
