for fast moving stocks. the first 15 minute is when OTC market makers *test* the market. you may place an order, but it's likely you won't get filled until 9:45. the market makers have to sort out buy/sell balance. likewise, if you do a market order at 9:30, most likely you will find that your orders get filled atleast 1/2 point more than what you hope for.
